Webscape Navigation
Nesso & Flor de Fuego x CCU
This performance was developed in 2024 during a live coding residency at CCU (Creative Coding Utrecht) and we continue working on it as a constant work in progress.
While using different elements, such us UI and gamepad controllers, 3D worlds with consoles, soudscapes, code and poetry, with the intention of showcasing the layers of computation and our relationship with computers and programs.
The pictures are from the opening concert from Interations Online at Institute of Sonology in The Hague, Netherlands.
Webscape Navigation was also performed at Shape Shifters, event organized by CCU in Vogelfrei, Utrecht and Next Level Festival, at the Dortmunder U in Dortmund, Germany.

About:
‘Webscape Navigation’ by Francesco Corvi (nesso) and Flor de Fuego is a browser-based live coding performance that allows the internet to be experienced as a transdimensional space. Using a gamepad, the performers control a three-dimensional environment that visually and conceptually represents the web. This navigation becomes the core of the performance, transforming the act of surfing into a poetic movement through digital landscapes. HTML elements, UI building blocks and the live console flow into the aesthetics and reveal the technical layers of the internet. Debugging tools, normally invisible in the background, become an integral part of the artwork. The transparency of live coding opens up new perspectives on the medium and shifts the audience's perception: performance, medium and audience enter into a newly defined dialogue. The focus is less on technical virtuosity and more on the experience of navigation that simultaneously exposes and poeticises digital space.
